Of course not – and you would be thinking in the correct path. However, it all depends on what you want to achieve. WordPress is a fabulous platform, it is free, and it takes very little time to learn and master.
The power of wordpress lies in its plugins, the majority of (or at least many of them) are free and, in relation to other CMS’s out there they are also low cost, should you decide to purchase one.
Lets start with your hosting provider. Most hosting companies provide WordPress as part of their packages. You can ask before you get hosting to learn if they support Softaculous, which is a few-clicks system, where you can install WordPress as well as a variety of other software on your web hosting account. If you are proactive, you can also ask your provider to install them for you, and do so before you pay them for hosting. Most will say yes, with no charge. So free starts there.
